This book contains early sketches and character designs for the manga, some of which never made it into the story (for example, Diana the Moon Fairy became Diana the cat, Luna and Artemis’ daughter). The book also includes new full color illustrations introducing each section, never-before-published color illustrations created for Sailor Moon merchandise, black & white sketches that served as the basis of anime artwork, and a short non-canon manga called “Parallel Sailormoon” set in an alternate or “parallel” timeline in which Usagi has a second daughter named Tsukino Kousagi, who becomes “Parallel Sailormoon”. (Naoko Takeuchi has stated that Usagi will only ever have the one daughter in canon). This story is reprinted in Sailor Moon Short Stories Vol. 2.
